A 63-member-team of National Defence Course (NDC)
from Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka visited Bangladesh
Rice Research Institute (BRRI) on Tuesday (26
April` 2011) in Gazipur. BRRI Director (Research) Dr Md Khairul Bashar presided over
the meeting organized on the occasion of the visit, at the VIP conference room of the institute.
Dr Bashar also welcomed the team at the institute and briefed the team members about its main features including its success in development of high yielding rice varieties and other appropriate technologies as well as their impact on the national economy.
The team headed by Major General AKM Muzahid Uddin, NDU, AFWC,
PSC was deeply impressed after being informed about BRRI's
success and achievements as well as having a look on the Plant Breeding Net House,
Hybrid Material Development Nursery and the BRRI Gene Bank.
Higher military and civil officials from nine countries including Bangladesh, India,
China, Egypt, Tanjania, Srilanka, Malaysia, Jordan, KSA and Nigeria took part in the visit programme.
