Research Management
The research and
technology development programs of BRRI are executed by 18 research
divisions at BRRI HQ and 9 regional stations. Multi-disciplinary,
problem orientated annual research programs are developed and executed
by involving all level of scientists of BRRI HQ and Regional Stations.
Research at BRRI is organized in seven program areas. Each program
area is composed of one or more research divisions called the program
performing units (PPU). The program areas and the component research
divisions are:

Annual research programs are developed and finalized under three
steps:
-
Intra divisional participation of scientists under the leadership of
the divisional head.
-
Program area meeting with program performing unit i.e. research
division under the leadership of the program area.
-
Program committee meeting to review and finalize the annual research
program. The program committee for a program area includes heads of
all its program performing units and heads of several other research
divisions under the chairmanship of Director Research.
After finalization, the research programs are executed by the program
performing units at HQ and as well as at Regional Stations.
The
programs approved for execution are monitored by the concern heads of
the divisions as well as the director (Research) and the Director
General. Thereafter results of the executed programs are presented in
the Annual Internal Review meeting, where all the scientist of BRRI
and also expert members from other institutions take part as a final
evaluation process
